Installing delegates from source – ImageMagick
This doesn’t work for me either. Which brings me back to my original question: I got past that by modifying the configure script to force jpeg compilation. Ran configure, make, make install no error messages.
Installed libjpeg62 via apt-get, did a recompile of IM and it appears successfully in the delegates list – just PNG does not work!! This does not quite catch everything so activate the Source repositories by clicking on ‘Souce Code’ here:.

I already have the jpeg-6b library compiled and installed I’m pretty sure that I pointed the ImageMagick build at the correct headers and that the correct library was available for linking.
Thanks — this mostly worked. I have been trying to run the following script on ImageMagick on a Linux server convert resized. I don’t know for certain whether that’s because the jpeg delegate library is not in the correct location, or whether there’s still a build problem.

I introduced a poll for a solution to reduce this mistakes: So I still think the delegate is probably not installed in the correct location. Thanks for the tip. Installed libpng via this also: But I’m not sure which file is the required delegate library, nor where the correct install path is located. So I think I’m past that point in the process. I don’t have a native toolchain for the target platform, so I have to cross-compile.
You are making things a little too hard for yourself, here is a quick and dirty guide that ran well for me on Trusty Tahr:.
I know the images are OK. It looks like there is no delegate for PNG.
First pick up a few known dependencies: The jpeg tests in the imagemagick configure script insist on trying to compile and run code, which doesn’t work when cross-compiling since the code won’t run on the host platform.
